Nice 1st birthday gift

I love HABA blocks. The colors are bright and they are full of unexpected surprises. I bought this set for my daughter's first birthday. It as just the right size for someone just starting to stack blocks. And she really loved putting the dwarf in the car. Since then, we've expanded our collection and we all (even the much older siblings) enjoy having a beautiful set of blocks that grows as she grows. There is no better toy for years of creative play than a good set of blocks.

Sweet 1st Blocks

We have discovered the world of Haba and are switching out all our plastic toys. These were bought for my 7 month old who after excitedly hitting the pictures on the box let me open it up. The green ring was the first to catch her eye and she gummed that while exploring the others with her free hand. All the blocks are very smooth and well put together. The square has a jingle bell inside, the blue rectangle a mirror recessed on one side and the red rectangle four beads on a dowel. The beads move just enough to slide but not enough to get her finger between them. Big brother likes to zoom around the man in the car which makes her laugh. This was our first Haba block experience and we are all thrilled and I look forward to passing these down the line.

Perfect first block set

At first I was skeptical that these blocks would be interesting enough. After reading many reviews to the contrary, I decided to order them anyway and am now convinced that they are indeed the perfect first block set. Not enough to overwhelm or be strewn everywhere; just enough to stack and create.

Nice Variety

This is a beautiful first block set. It contains a nice variety of blocks that would entertain little ones. My daughter is 9 months and isn't really into building things yet, but they are fun to stack and the different shapes and activities on them keep her busy. I could see this set lasting for many years.

Great quality

These are beautiful, interesting blocks, the usual wonderful Haba quality and design. My 15 month old enjoys playing with the car and the ball -- she's not sure what to do with the other pieces yet but perhaps that will come in time. They are larger than I expected - nice size for toddler hands.
